At Lone Star Deep Dive, we are passionate about bringing diverse voices together to have meaningful conversations about the issues that matter most to our communities.

In participation with the Amarillo League of Women Voters, our goal is to create a space where people can explore different perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of the complex challenges facing our society today.

Tonya Kleuskens

Podcast Host

Tonya Kleuskens joined her husband on his family farm in 1976. They raised their family and immersed themselves in a close-knit community. Tonya has handled diverse responsibilities, from equipment operation to gardening. After selling their farm in 2009, the couple retired to Canyon, Texas in June 2010. Tonya's resilience, versatility, and commitment has left a lasting impact on her family and the local farming community.
As a committed volunteer, Tonya dedicated years to serving across various organizations, including Mariposa Community Land Trust, Dove Creek Equine Rescue, Amarillo League of Women Voters, and Region A Water Planning Group for sustainable water management (which develops comprehensive five-year water plans for the Panhandle of Texas, working toward a 50-year horizon).
At the Deaf Smith County Historical Society, Tonya focused on the Historical Interview Committee, recording WWII Veterans' interviews archived by KACV-TV and other local residents with relevant histories. Her original work is accessible at the Southwest Collection at Texas Tech University. Tonya also advocates for water protection and environmental awareness, and she influenced the removal of Texas from the potential high-level nuclear waste storage site list in 1987. Tonya is also an avid gardener, yoga instructor, and nutritional enthusiast.
